Landing Zone Safety Guide

 

Required Information to Launch LifeLine:

  • Requesting agency & caller's name
  • Agency phone number
  • County in which accident is located
  • Nearest major highways and intersections
  • Nearest town & the direction and distance from the town to the accident.

Additional Information necessary to continue flight:

  • Landing Zone (LZ) location in relation to the accident site.
  • Latitude and Longitude of the scene, if known.
    • Call sign and radio frequency of the unit in charge of the LZ include PL tone for your frequency
    • Hazards associated with the LZ: power lines, towers, guide wires, posts, signs, trees, loose debris.
  • Is there a HAZMAT situation?

Beneficial Patient Information (but not required):

Note: We realize that the EMS crew may be busy with the patient and unable to provide this information. 

  • Male or Female
  • Is the patient still entrapped?
  • Is the patient intubated?
  • A brief description of injuries
