The Safety Store offers low-cost child safety products and injury prevention education to both Riley Hospital families and all families from throughout Indiana. The Safet Store provides an environment where parents feel comfortable to shop, learn, and ask questions about their child's safety, all under the roof of a children's hospital.
At Riley Hospital for Children, we believe that every child deserves a chance to grow up to lead safe and healthy lives. That's why the Safety Store is the first of its kind in the nation to serve the needs of all children, including children with disabilities or special health care needs.
If you have a child with special needs, ask Safety Store staff about available products designed specifically to help keep your child safe.
Child safety is our priority.
As Indiana's only comprehensive children's hospital, we are a resource to all families. Riley Hospital for Children recognizes that parenting is not always easy. Making sure that your child's world is safe can be a full-time job.
Keeping your child safe every day is important to his growth and development. Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death for children ages 14 and under. Most of these injuries can be easily prevented through education and the proper use of child safety equipment.
That's why we introduced the Safety Store.
How may we help you?
The Safety Store offers a variety of child safety products at low cost for all children, including:
- Smoke detectors
- Bike helmets
- Cabinet locks
- Appliance locks
- Bath water thermometers
- Tub spout covers
- baby safety gates
- Window cord wraps
- Gun locks
- Flashlights
- Fire smothering blankets
Safety Store staff are trained to teach you and your family how to properly use and maintain safety products and practice child safety. Staff are also ready to answer any questions you may have about what you can do to prevent child injuries.
