A is for Apple
An apple is a fruit. You need 2-4 fruits each day.
B is for Bagel
A bagel is a bread. Half a bagel counts as 1 serving of bread. It is good to eat for breakfast or as a snack. It belongs to the grain group, therefore you should eat 6-11 servings a day.

C is for Carrot
A carrot is a vegetable. You should eat 3-5 vegetables each day.
D is for Donut
This is a food you can eat once in a while. It is found at the top of the pyramid. It contains a small amount of nutrients for a growing kid. Make sure you eat your grains, fruits, vegetables, milk, and meats first before you fill up on the foods at the top of the pyramid.

E is for egg
Eggs are a great start to your day and make for an excellent breakfast. Eggs are a member of the meat group and you need 2-3 servings of meat a day from the meat group.
F is for French Toast
This is a wonderful breakfast choice. 1 slice counts as a grain, and you need 6-11 servings a day from the grain group.

G is for Grapes
Grapes are a fruit and you should eat 2-4 fruits each day.
H is for Ham
Ham is a meat, which you have 2-3 servings from the meat group a day.

I is for Ice Cream
Ice cream contains a mineral called calcium, which is for strong bones and healthy teeth. You should have 4 servings from the milk group each day.
J is for Jelly
Jelly is in the top of the pyramid. Jelly contains sugar, which provides energy, but we need other nutrients from the other food groups first.

K is for Kiwi Fruit
You need 2-4 servings of fruit each day.
L is for Lifesaver
Lifesavers are a candy, and candy goes in the top of the pyramid. It could be eaten once in a while after you have eaten foods from the other food groups.

Milk is very important for growing children. Growing children should consume at least 4 glasses of milk a day from the ages of 4-6 years old.
N is for Nuts
Nuts are a good protein source. Nuts go in the meat group and you need 2-3 servings of meat each day.

O is for Orange
An orange is a fruit. You should have 2-4 servings of fruit each day.
P is for Pie
Although pie is usually made from fruit, pie is mostly extra energy. Pie goes in the tip of the pyramid, and could be eaten occasionally after you meet the other food group goals.

Q is for Quiche
This is often a breakfast specialty but is sometimes served for lunch or dinner. It can have many different groups in it but it always has eggs in it. Eggs are a meat and you need 2-3 servings from this group daily.
R is for Rice
Rice is also a good thing to eat at any meal. Rice is a grain group and you should eat 6-11 servings from this group each day.

Sweets belong at the top of the pyramid, they should only be eaten occasionally after you meet the other pyramid goals.
T is for Turnip
Turnips are also a vegetable. You should have 3-5 servings of vegetables a day.

It is a mixture of a grapefruit and a tangerine. You need 2-4 servings of fruit each day.
V is for Vegetables
You should consume at least 3-5 vegetables a day.

X is for Xigua (she-gwah)
This is a Chinese name for a watermelon, which is a fruit. You need 2-4 servings of fruit a day.

Yogurt, either normal or in the frozen form is a milk source on the Food Guide Pyramid. You need at least 4 servings of milk a day if you are between the ages of 4-6 years old.
Z is for Zucchini
Zucchini is a vegetable. You should have 3-5 servings of vegetables a day.
