Jump Kids Jump program logistics are still in process, may change, and should not be regarded currently as final. Removal of this disclaimer will indicate that logistics have been finalized. It's time. Riley Hospital is sounding a call to change for Indiana's kids, a call to change now to shape healthy futures later as adults. With the help of many partners, we're challenging kids of all ages and abilities to exercise regularly by jumping rope. We've put tools and resources on-line for the Jump Kids Jump Program presented by Riley Hospital in collaboration with the partners listed below. Caring adults can download and use the Jump Kids Jump program to introduce kids at schools, churches, youth groups, or community programs to how to practice basic jump rope skills. Periodically, we will add additional education resources to help enhance the on-going presentation of Jump Kids Jump year-round. This program will only work if caring adults convene kids regularly to practice jump roping. Our goal is to encourage the start up of jump rope teams of young people who come together regularly to practice jump roping skills as individuals and as a group and to have fun while also learning about how to stay physically fit through jump roping. We encourage you to contact local businesses and community service organizations for volunteer adult help to support the regular gathering of children together to practice jump roping skills on a regular basis. To make Jump Kids Jump work, kids need jump ropes. For organizations interested in purchasing jump ropes for groups of children, a general guideline to consider in your purchasing is that most kids up through second and third grade can work comfortably with a 7 to 8 foot jump rope. One partner that has stepped forward to offer help to 3rd grade classrooms in Indiana participating in Jump Kids Jump is the Indiana District of Kiwanis International. If your school wants help to purchase jump ropes for 3rd graders participating in this program, contact the Indiana District of Kiwanis International through the information below: Indiana District of Kiwanis International For consideration of your request, let the Indiana District of Kiwanis International know your school name, location, and county and number of 3rd grade students needing jump ropes. We ask for help from families of all kids to support and encourage kids to continue on with their practice of jump roping year-round at home, at school, church, camps, or in after school programs. Join with us to put our call to change into action in your community. Help kids to change now so that they are on course for healthy and physically fit futures as adults.
