The Riley Community Education and Child Advocacy Department develops education and advocacy programs and resources for children, adolescents, families and professionals for use in their communities. From Fort Wayne to Indianapolis to Evansville, to every community in between, we think of all Hoosier children as “Riley Kids.” To accomplish our mission, we advocate Healthy Children by providing educational resources to encourage healthy habits and to reduce high-risk behaviors that contribute to poor health.

Resources address the following topics:

  • Tobacco use prevention and cessation
  • Secondhand smoke
  • Healthy eating
  • Sexually transmitted disease
  • Pregnancy prevention

Toolboxes with instructions and teaching materials available for loan:

  • Nutrition

Brochures and/or printable copies:

  • Nutrition (varied topics)
  • Sexually transmitted diseases

Programs available for loan to local communities:

  • Informed Choice (PowerPoint/script on consequences of tobacco smoking)
  • Snack Attack (healthy snack recipes)
