Violence Prevention

Pediatric Violent Injury Protocol

A hospital-based protocol model is in process for assessing and enhancing patient and family care and support during hospital stay and following discharge from the hospital due to firearm or blunt trauma injury. The protocol team meets quarterly to discuss the on-going development and operation of the protocol and to keep informed of new information, research, programs, and resources relating to violence prevention in communities.

Next Door Neighbors Puppet Program

Working with community partners, an interactive puppet program focuses on presentation of scripts that promote a message of alternatives to violence to children grades 3-5. Original curriculum provides activities for classroom teachers to use before and after puppet presentations.
