The Mood Disorders Clinic was founded in 1997 by Mark E. Bangs, M.D. The clinic provides a wide variety of treatment approaches, including counseling and/or medication, second opinions, and consultations. Several clinical social workers specialize in providing an array of therapies, such as individual, family, sibling, parental, social skills, group and supportive counseling. The clinic also provides education and outreach throughout the community. Presentations and seminars are offered to mental health centers, schools, support groups and other interested groups. ResearchOur clinic currently is conducting ongoing research in the areas of depression and bipolar disorder in children and adolescents. A research nurse and a research technician, are working with other clinic staff on various research studies involving mood disorders and their treatment.
