The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Indiana University School of Medicine has a state-of-the-art three-channel Selectron low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy unit to treat cancers of the cervix, uterus and nasopharynx. The source container and control system are enclosed in a mobile unit which takes up minimum floor space. This LDR unit can be connected to a range of over 60 different applicators to enable low dose rate intracavitary treatment.
