Tiller 7 Safe House Project

Fully restored tiller ladder truck supports a two-story fire safety house. Recognized nationally by the National Safety Council with an Award of Commendation as an outstanding statewide fire safety education program, the Tiller 7 Safe House visits communities across the state to teach preschoolers and early elementary school age children fire safety prevention and evacuation skills.

Learn Not to Burn Preschool Program

Orientation workshops are offered to preschool educators across Indiana to use the National Fire Protection Association's Learn Not to Burn Preschool Program as part of the Healthy Child Care Indiana initiative. A statewide network of "super trainers" is available to conduct orientation workshops that introduce childcare providers to the costs and dangers of fire and to teaching strategies and resources. This project was recognized as a Regional Finalist in Community Safety Programs for the 1999 Allstate Safety Leadership Awards.
