Current Programs

The Child Protection Program is actively and instrumentally involved in numerous community initiatives, primarily representing the medical community and often providing leadership. Dr. Hibbard directs The Marion County Child Fatality Review Team and serves on the Marion County Child Protection Team, and Marion County Child Advocacy Center. Dr. Laskey leads the State Child Fatality Review Team and co-directs the Family Violence Institute at IUPUI. Team members are regularly requested to participate in ad hoc committees and task forces in the hospitals and community, locally and statewide (e.g. Governor’s Commission on Abused and Neglected Children and Their Families, Task Force on Drug Endangered Children, Marion County Strategic Planning Committee, State Fatality Review Team, etc.). Educational presentations on all aspects of child maltreatment are offered regularly throughout the state for medical, mental health, education, social and legal professionals.
