Children are brought to Riley Hospital for a wide range of congenital heart treatments, including surgery. Heart transplants may be offered to newborns and children of all ages after special evaluation, and are determined to be medically in need of this therapy. If the child's cardiac condition can not be repaired with surgical therapy, then cardiac transplantation will be considered. For the best possible care, treatment of children's' cardiac issues requires an integrated 'team' approach. Riley Hospital for Children Cardiac Surgery Services has the team to care for any child with a heart condition.
