Read a list of frequently asked questions regarding parking at Riley Hospital.

  1. Where do I go to receive help with paying for parking?
To apply for parking assistance, you should visit the main social work office on the third floor of Riley Hospital. Take the resource elevator (near the Ronald McDonald House) to the third floor. The office is across the hall from the elevator doors, room # 3546. You must qualify financially to receive parking assistance.
  2. How do I apply for parking assistance?
To apply for assistance, you must complete an application in the social work office. Qualifying for parking help is income based; therefore, not all families will qualify for this help.
  3. What if my family does not qualify for parking assistance?
If you find that you do not meet the financial requirements to receive free parking, you can go to the Hospital Administration office on the first floor and purchase a month long "Lot Pass" for approximately $14.75. These passes do expire, and you will need a new pass on the first of every month. These passes are good for the surface lots between 8 a.m.-4 p.m.; after 4 p.m., you may use the surface pass to park in the Wilson or ROC garage.
  4. What will I be given if my family does qualify for this assistance?
If you have been found eligible for parking assistance, you will be given 8 blue parking passes. These passes are good for 1 time use only; therefore, you will be able to exit the garage at no cost up to 8 times per hospital stay. It will be up to the family to decide who should receive these passes and when they should be used during the stay. Be aware that a pass must be used each time you exit the garage, even if that is multiple times per day.
  5. How long does the social work office help me with my parking fees?
Each family who qualifies will receive up to 8 single day passes. If your family has a need beyond this, you will need to ask to speak to a social worker who will help you develop a plan based on your individual circumstances.
  6. What happens when my 8 days of free parking ends/or I run out of passes?
Once your 8 days of free parking ends, you can go to the Hospital Administration office on the first floor and purchase a monthly "Lot Pass" for approximately $14.75. Lot passes are good for 1 month at a time. These passes are good for the parking lots only, and will not cover the cost of parking in the hospital garages. However, families can enter the garage after 4 p.m. with this pass. Families are able to purchase multiple passes. If you feel in spite of these resources that you have concerns about your family's ability to afford the cost of parking, please return to your child's unit or outpatient clinic and asked to speak to a Riley social worker.
