Riley Hospital for Children at Methodist Hospital

Riley Hospital for Children at Methodist Hospital is part of Riley Hospital for Children, Indiana’s first and only comprehensive children's hospital.

Riley at Methodist is dedicated to providing the highest quality medical care to children through a family-centered focus. This means that we see the family of each child as an equal partner in our health care team. We are committed to ensuring that every child receives the high-quality care he or she needs and deserves. Each of our pediatric units including the General Pediatrics Unit, the Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit, the Pediatric Critical Care Unit and the Newborn Intensive Care Unit have tried to provide a healing environment that is warm and friendly.

General Pediatrics Unit

A hospital stay can be a stressful time for any family. The General Pediatrics Unit works with children and their families to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Parents and guardians are welcome to visit their child 24-hours a day, with in-room pull-out chairbeds and nearby overnight housing options. A playroom, including a toy borrowing program for parents and children, is designed to help children deal with their illnesses through play. A "rec room" is also available for teens to visit to help make them feel more at home.

Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit

The Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit is a 17-bed inpatient rehabilitation center. Our goal is to help children reach the highest level of function in the shortest time possible. Children wear their own clothes, not hospital gowns, and families are encouraged to take part in therapy sessions. The rehabilitation team meets every week to talk about the progress each child has made in treatment. The team will then set goals for the following two weeks.

Pediatric Critical Care (PCC)

The PCC is staffed 24-hours a day with doctors and nurses specially trained to care for critically ill and injured children. The staff is also available at any time to answer questions parents may have regarding their child's care, working to make a family's stay informed and comfortable. Sleep rooms are available for parents who would prefer not to leave the hospital.

Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

The NICU at Riley at Methodist is one of the nation's most advanced facilities, designed specifically for the care of babies who have special needs and require extra attention. Babies receive the most technologically advanced medical and nursing care available for newborns. Parents are welcome to stay at their baby’s bedside for as long as they wish and help care for their baby at any time.
