Riley Hospital Programs participate in annual Buddy Walk

10/11/2009

INDIANAPOLIS – Three Riley Hospital for Children programs presented information booths on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at the 12th Annual Down Syndrome Buddy Walk 2009, a 2.6 mile no fee walk along the canal beginning at Celebration Plaza in White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis. The walk is presented each year to help fund Down Syndrome Indiana programs and services that serve individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.

Tom Lund, Family Librarian for the Edward A. Block Family Library at the Frank and Marian Snyder Family Resource Center, was there to help families learn about the Center’s many information resources and support to help on any question relating to the growth and development of a child with disabilities or healthcare needs and about the many books, videos, DVDs, games, and computers at the Family Resource library for Riley families and children. Charlene Davis, CPNP, Coordinator, Anne Whitehall Down Syndrome Program also was present and shared information and resources about services and support offered for families of children with Down Syndrome, including a summer camp at Bradford Woods. Megan Fager and Jordan Wainwright, Community Outreach Educators for Riley Community Education and Child Advocacy, shared information about the Riley Safety Store and the Jump Kids Jump Movement.
